Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is an injectable treatment that is used to eradicate small to medium sized spider veins of the leg. A tiny needle is used to inject a solution into the vein. The solution causes the walls of the vein to become irritated and collapse. This process may take several weeks and the vein may initially appear discolored. It is very important to avoid sun exposure to the treated area during the healing process. Several treatment sessions may be required to optimize results. There is minimal pain involved in the procedure, and compression stockings need to be worn for 1-2 weeks following injections.
